Premier Inn to Open Its Second Dublin City Centre Hotel
Premier Inn has confirmed it will open its second hotel in Dublin City Centre on Monday 20th March.
Located at Gloucester Street South in Dublin 2, the new 113-bedroom Premier Inn is a few minutes’ walk from Dublin’s world-famous Trinity College, Temple Bar and North Docklands.
The new hotel brings Premier Inn’s latest format bedrooms to the south of Dublin for the first time and doubles its presence in Dublin City Centre, an important growth market for the brand.
Gloucester Street South is the second Premier Inn hotel to open in Dublin city centre.Matt Gent, Development Manager for Premier Inn in Ireland, said:
“The new Gloucester Street South hotel kicks off an exciting year ahead for Premier Inn in Ireland. It is the first of four new Premier Inn hotels we are on track to open in Dublin and Cork city centres this financial year as we work towards our target of 4,000 Premier Inn rooms across Ireland.
“The new ten-storey is located on the corner of Princes Street South and Gloucester Street South and gives us a presence in the south east of Dublin city centre for the first time. It strengthens our network in the city centre once again and I am sure it will be a very popular choice with our business and leisure customers.

Premier Inn opened its first hotel in Dublin City Centre at South Great Georges Street in November 2021. It has also operates a 213-bedroom hotel at Swords, close to Dublin Airport
Whitbread, the parent company to Premier Inn, has recruited more than 45 new team members to run the Gloucester Street South Premier Inn.
Elsewhere in the city, new Premier Inn hotels are currently being constructed at The Liberties (151-bedrooms) and North Docklands (262-bedrooms) and a 187-bedroom Premier Inn is also being built at Cork City Centre and is scheduled to open in December 2023.
Premier Inn, which currently offers 83,000 rooms across the UK is currently looking for new locations across Dublin and in Galway, Kildare, Killarney and Limerick.
Outside of Ireland, Premier Inn is also growing strongly in Germany where it currently operates more than 40 hotels as it seeks to develop a nationwide network of Premier Inn rooms across the country.
