Gravity Capital move transforms Dutch hospitality holding
Gravity Capital has reconfigured its position in European hospitality by acquiring Kingstone Capital UAE on June 30, 2026, securing an indirect 70.3% interest in the former Grand Metropolitan Hotels Holding B.V. The Dutch entity has since been rebranded as Gravity Hospitality Holding, with its prior directors and supervisory board stepping down in favor of a new management lineup. As part of the same deal, Gravity Capital also obtained majority stakes in Genesis AI, Room Hub and Xenios.
The change in ownership ended the company’s ability to trade under the Grand Metropolitan name after Grand Metropolitan 1931 AG withdrew the brand licence. Kingstone Capital Holding AG Switzerland remains invested in the separate Grand Metropolitan Hotels Group, which plans to drive international expansion through hotel management, branding, franchising, affiliation platforms and digital hospitality services. The group is in exclusive talks to acquire a hotel-affiliation business, with a formal update expected in September 2026.
Strategic implications for Grand Metropolitan Hotels
The restructuring separates the Dutch holding from the broader Grand Metropolitan Hotels Group, while enabling the latter to pursue an asset-light growth model backed by Kingstone Capital Holding AG Switzerland.
