Marriott hotel and conference center reshapes Frederick
Work is underway on the Marriott Downtown Frederick at Carroll Creek, a full-service Marriott hotel and conference center rising along Carroll Creek Linear Park in Downtown Frederick, Maryland. The project, led and to be managed by Plamondon Hospitality Partners, is designed to deliver 204 guest rooms and more than 21,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
The development is structured as a public–private partnership, with the State of Maryland committing $23 million, or roughly a quarter of total costs, and Frederick County and the City of Frederick adding $4.5 million. Officials expect the venue to become the only single-roof location in Frederick City and County capable of hosting large conferences and business gatherings.
Projected economic impact for the city and region
Annual economic output tied to the Marriott Downtown Frederick at Carroll Creek is estimated at $25.8 million, alongside $1.5 million in additional state tax revenue and nearly $1 million in local property taxes. Around 200 direct, indirect, and induced jobs are anticipated, with the project forecast to stimulate more than $100 million in follow-on development. Opening is targeted for 2027.
